Hey there!!

My name is syd, im nineteen (turning twenty pretty soon) and I currently live in Knoxville, TN. I grew up in a small town in Texas called Wimberley, and will forever be a Texas girl at heart (hook em' baby!!) I graduated Wimberley High School in 2019, attended University of North Texas for a year, and now im in Knox!ย

I was introduced to Jesus when I was a junior in highschool. It started with this organization called Young Life that all of my friends were hanging at. Then, I got to know this college girl some more- Mackenzie showed me for the first time consistency and a safe place to talk about the hard things going on. Next thing I know, im at camp for a week hearing about Jesus every day. That next summer, I went to Crooked Creek for Work Crew and saw a glimpse of how wonderful community based in the Lord could be. I went to college, fell off the wagon, and my faith became surface level. Everything was on the brink- either I could give in to what the Lord wanted for me, or I could continue to live a life full of worldly pleasures. And for a moment, I chose those worldly pleasures.

ย Not long after that, I was broken down, I had nothing left in me. Then my friend stepped in and showed me a new way of life. One full of grace, patience, obedience, and just pure joy. She allowed a new hope into my heart, and gave me a space to dive in with the Lord. I lived with her family for a few months, and from there I decided I wanted to move to Knoxville, TN. I had a new fire in my belly, and I was ready to take this next step. I was looking for a space where my faith could be my own, and see if I really wanted to pursue the Lord. And I am so proud to say that is exactly what I did. I moved here in October, and since then I have found my own church, and as of January 24, 2021, I was re-baptized! My faith has never been stronger, and I just want to shout at the top of my lungs all the good the Lord has done for me. I have found my place at the table with the Lord!
